NOTE: You can register at the day of the event.  For all people under 18 they must be accompanied by a parent to sign all waivers before participating in the event.

Brief Description: Skate Competition and Skate Deck Design Competition Don’t miss this dynamic competition! Come show off your Skate and/or Arts Skills or just enjoy a festive atmosphere at the Oxnard Skate Park. All monies raised support Arts for Action. Arts for Action proactively engages youth in the creation of new artistic work(s).This is through a full prism of studio and street arts, dance, and music. We do not wish to create “arts for arts sake, but rather continue legacy of community based arts.

Additional Information: Skate Competition Format Contestants will ride in the Oxnard Skate Park which has ramps, rails, a grind box, a bowl and stairs for two minutes. Judges will give contestants a rating based on various categories. There will also be a popular vote, where people will put a dollar a vote for their favorite skater. There are age categories in this event. Skate-Deck Design (Arts) Competition Contestants will be given a black skate deck upon registering for the contest. Contestants can design the board before or on the day of the event. On the day of the event aerosol and acrylic paints will be provide, or you can bring your own. Judges will decide winners, and so will the popular vote by a dollar a vote. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE THERE BY 9 AM Prizes include: Cash Prize for Skate and Art Winners in Certain Categories A Yacht Trip for team or individual who raises the most money for Arts for Action in entering the contest ($25 minimum to register) Other skate, and arts supplies from local skate companies and shops.
